Lucy Liu was born in the United States. Liu is an American singer, actress and voice actor. She's a beautiful, intelligent actress who inspires numerous Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. An array of highly successful initial performances in popular TV series led to her becoming well-known for her part in the character on Ally McBeal, where she played Ling Woo. After her fame, she got major part for her in Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). Then she gave a stunning performance as Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii In the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill Volume 1. In the meantime her role as a leading lady in flops that were box-office hits like Rise: Blood Hunter were as well-known. In the following years, she started voicing the characters of animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Small screen roles such as Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia failed to produce positive results. Southland's highly praised police show, Southland and a recurring part in the show helped Liu establish herself as an established actress. Liu is extremely cautious when picking her roles to ensure that she doesn't become typecast within a highly competition-driven industry. Though she has embraced her roots she has not let them hinder her creativity.
