Kelly Clarkson (American singer/songwriter) is a well-known American following her win on American Idol's debut season. The win not only catapulted her into the limelight, but also earned the singer a multi-album contract in partnership with RCA Records 19 Recordings and S Records. From her first appearance her album, she's released several albums. Three of those albums reached number one on the US Billboard 200. The other albums were also close to reaching the top position. Her name is among the most successful artists to have sprung from her participation in the American Idol series. She started to explore music and themes as her success increased. Her work was praised by critics and a number of important awards for her creativity as well as her singing talent. In particular, she has been awarded the Grammy Award a record three times. Alongside her music professional career, she has worked in film and TV. She has also written her children's book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and been involved in numerous charities.
