Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez, born Rosa Maria Perez, September 6, 1964 is an American choreographer and actress. Her biggest breakthrough came from Tina's character in Do the Right Thing (1989), then followed closely by White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez was nominated to win the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Fearless (1993). Perez's roles as a star in films include It Could Happen to You (1994) as well as The Road to El Dorado(2000), Pineapple Express (2007) and Birds of Prey (2018). She also received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations (in 1990, 1994 and) and a third Emmy nomination (2020-present) for her work as The Flight Attendant. She has also appeared in stage productions on Broadway such as The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. She was also a co-host on the ABC talk show The View during the series in its 18th season. She attended Grover Cleveland High School, located in the Ridgewood neighborhood in Queens. By 1999 her mother was living in poverty, in the Woodside Houses, when she died of AIDS-related complications
